Parish Council
We Need Your Views
The Parish Council is planning to provide a Trim Trail around the village. It is planned to include two new paths for running and walking. One on The Green to link the existing footpaths at Columbyne Close and near Pooles Farm (alongside but set back from Thorney Green Road) and a second path to link between Trinity Meadows and Trinity Walk (pass the bus shelter).
When complete the trail would be a circular route around 2 miles long. An additional longer route is also provided. It would include existing footpaths as well as new links. The map overleaf shows the route: it takes in the paths from the pond near The Retreat, along to Barley Close, around Steeple View and into and around the Bloor Homes development to emerge onto Trinity Walk; then on the footpath in front of the bungalows on Gipping Road, onto The Green and along to the Linden Homes development; a new path around the edge of this development would come out on the B1115 cycle/footpath; then the route continues along to Devon Road, Maple Road, out onto The Green, along the path and back to the start.
Fitness equipment, route markers, information boards and an explanatory leaflet would be provided. The route would be suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities and the majority of the route is planned to be suitable for wheelchairs.
Most of the cost will be covered by Community Infrastructure Levy and grants. To support our grants applications, we need to show that there is local support for the scheme.
