Important Roadworks Information

A14 westbound junction 55 - resurfacing

National Highways plan to carry out essential resurfacing on the A14 westbound carriageway junction 55. Once complete, drivers will benefit from a safer, smoother, and better-defined road surface.

We plan to complete this work for one night on Tuesday 27 January 2026. We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather conditions permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A14 westbound carriageway at junction 55 and divert traffic as detailed below:

  • At junction 55, take the exit slip road
  • At Copdock Roundabout, take the second exit
  • Join the A14 via the entry slip road, where the diversion ends
