Stowupland Parish Council 

Stowupland Parish Council is an elected body which reflects local views and functions as the first tier of local government.  

Parish councils are made up of unpaid councillors who are elected to serve for four years.   Parish councils are funded by levying a "precept" collected from within the council tax paid by the residents of the parish.    

Stowupland Parish has seven seats filled by Stowupland residents who represent the community and have a statutory responsibility for certain aspects of the village and four casual vacancies.

The Parish Council has a broad range of responsibilities that include:

  • Allotments
  • Bus Shelters
  • Burial Records
  • Closed Holy Trinity Churchyard
  • Play Park and Play Equipment
  • Street lighting
  • Street cleansing
  • Statutory consultations on planning issues
  • The Village Green
